You understand your target community the best. Help to guide their experience.
We are partnering with you because you understand the individual circumstances of people you support within and through your organisation, and can select or refer suitable candidates.
Group trips can add extra benefits to a travel experience, however, you may wish to apply for an individual for specific support reasons.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
All trip participants must:
be Jersey residents;
have an interest in arts, crafts, and/or history, and if needed, be able to produce references upon request;
be in need of financial support to make such a trip possible.
PURPOSE
The trip must have a clear, relatable purpose with full costs and itinerary researched.
GROUP SIZE
Group composition must address a number of factors: risk; support needs; care ratios; and practicalities of accommodation and transport. Your application may be extended to include support workers and/or those who form support networks for the principal beneficiary.
CONSIDERING THE APPLICATION WITHIN GROUP SESSIONS
Your application for trip funding must be duly considered by all the group’s participants, facilitated by the application author. Such discussions should take place prior to completing the application, to cover:
the relationship between travel, the arts, crafts and/or history & your group;
selection of location and trip purpose;
group research, itinerary and detailed budget;
how to be safe on this trip;
following a successful trip, what does the group intend to do to evolve their passion for arts/craft/history?
PLANNING THE TRIP
Any plans should focus on a period 4 months following the submission deadline i.e. 1st February submission should plan for travelling in June or beyond.
BUDGETS
Your budget estimation will include all costs you will incur during your time away, for example, transport, accommodation, and entry costs. Please keep all evidence of spending (in the form of receipts); you may be asked to show this. If possible, applicants should be advised to have enough personal funds to complement the trip e.g. spending money proportionate to cost of living, emergency funds, etc.
DATA-SHARING
Please gain permission from trip participants to share their personal data with Rivington (and ArtHouse Jersey, who provide administration services) before you submit the application on their behalf.
COMPREHENSIVE RISK ASSESSMENT AND INSURANCE
Rivington takes no liability for risk and therefore your risk assessment must cover all activity, travel and health risk, with appropriate mitigation and controls. Rivington cannot take responsibility for injury, damage, or loss that occurs during the trip. You must take out comprehensive insurance for the duration. Please get in touch if you require help on this topic.
AFTER SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION
You will be informed one month after the submission deadline of the outcome of your application. You may receive deferred, partial, or conditional approval. If the application is rejected you will be given clear rationale and feedback for future applications. If successful, a contract will be generated for you. Once this has been read, signed, and returned, funds will be paid into the account of your choice within 14 days.
AFTER THE TRIP
A condition of trip funding is for applicants to tell others of their experience, to inspire and generate many more applicants. This can take any format: video testimonials, written evaluation form, social media promotion, an in-depth report, community presentations or mentoring another applicant. The choice is yours, but please complete within two weeks of your return.
REPEAT APPLICANTS
Successful trip participants cannot attend another Rivington-funded trip in the same year, unless they are attending in a support capacity on behalf of others.
We look forward to receiving your application. We know you’re planning something truly worthwhile, so tell us all about it.
